Use of HTML to Author Presentations

Recently, some presenters have been preparing original lecture material in HTML instead of using presentation graphics software packages. This is made easier by the current generation of Web "authoring tools" which have largely removed the need to write bare HTML.

To present the material in a lecture environment, an ordinary browser such as Netscape(tm) can be used in conjunction with one of the varieties of screen projection hardware and a suitably networked PC or Mac. We have used this approach on our campus in the lecture rooms which have such facilities.

The obvious advantage of this approach is that there is no conversion involved: the document is, at all times, a normal Web page.
