Comparison of Mucor M41 with Geotrichum

The five runs for each organism are based on the two stochastic models (links below). A tip length for each organism was assumed to be 10 units. A "tip" is the length of the organism occurring at the end of each hypha (including branches) AFTER a change in direction of the hypha.

Measurements of this length were taken for the three colonies of Geotrichum but not for Mucor M41, which was measured in 1994 before the significance of this distance was considered.

Measurements of angles and distances for Mucor M41 in 1994 were all recorded to the nearest five (degrees or units). Although exact data is available for Geotrichum, the model for these runs is also based on data to the nearest five so that a direct comparison is possible.

All output is for generation 150.

All runs were converted to sound within the specified pitch midi range of 25 to 95 and all start at 60 (middle C).
