OK..what can i do while i WAIT for the rest of the 1600 install bits.....

Ummm.. last time we went away , i was worried about leaving the 12volt camp lights on to long.......I Feel the NEED to weld, so its time to make a 2nd battery box.

I had moved up to a generic 6" x 9" battery for the Zuk last time , and had my "dummy" battery for a former.

The 6" x 9" battery is 50% the cost of just about any other battery of the same power output..

So $11 later here is what i ended up with. AND If i was to do it agaon, there is NOTHING i would change ( Now thats saying something ;-)

The canister was the only thing i had to move.

At first i was a little worried that it would get a little Too hot from the heat comming up off the exhast.( i think i will still make a small shield from a tin can).

But the foam tube you can see on the A/C hose has been there for 2 years.

To stop the water getting boiled off from the hot air going out the vents at the corners on the bonnet ( hood) , I put a bit of 1.2mm alloy sheet in close to the body of the battery.

Look MUM , no new holes were made in the Zuk for this MOD.

All the holes were factory and threaded nuts were supplied by Suzuki ( how thoughtfull of them.).

The 3 x 50mm "L" sticking out the front was to mount this end of the holder with out drilling any holes ,and now holds a small tool box with jumper leads and spares. If i don't fit the 2nd battery i can put a whole tool box between the "L" and the firewall.

The two screws in the fire wall ( where the canister was mounted) , have small standoffs made from cut down angle, to stop the heads rubbing on the batterys case. There is about 8mm gap behind the 25mm x 3mm flat and the fire wall. The angle for the side rails is 30x30x2mm gal folded 'duragal'.
