I take from the WEB , so i give to the WEB.
So you have a HP printer on the network and its spewing out trays full of paper. About every 50th page has the following text/code on it.
XXXXXXXXX%.156u%300$n%.21u%301$nsecurity%302$n%.19
Most other pages have only a single character if any ? , Well you have come to the right place ! , you are being hacked by a script that thinks your printer is a Linux box. Yep the LPD port of the printer uses IP Port 515 , and so does a linux server. The IP of the machine running the script will probable have come from France or LasVagus in the US. We had 10's of printers print out trays of paper before i worked this one out. Get the network blokes to stop LPD ( port 515) printing from outside the firewall ! I'd like to hear from you if this hellped.. SeeYa
